How long have you been in business?
Privately owned and operated since 1986. The hotel was purchased and remodeled in 2011. This privately owned business takes pride in the cleanliness of the rooms and surrounding tropical grounds. We back up to the only freshwater lake on the island and have created a sandy beach along the lakefront to relax and enjoy all the wildlife on Marco Lake which is designated a natural habitat for local birds, ducks and turtles to name a few. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cocktail before dinner while taking in the serene atmosphere.
What is your primary product or service?
Our spacious and comfortable suites have been decorated with a cottage chic decor reminiscent of Old Florida and Key West. Each hideaway is thoughtfully appointed with a fresh, clean white and beige pallet and select floral accents. Wicker cottage-style furniture tastefully completes the setting for an island atmosphere. Imagine French doors, private decks, lake views, tropical breezes and blue skies....you are at Marco Island Lakeside Inn.
Our beautifully landscaped inn is located off the beaten track but close to everything. It is a serene sanctuary and a great retreat from the atmosphere of the large resorts and high rises. You will feel right at home the moment you enter. Our friendly staff is quite informative about the local area and offers a personalized experience of Marco Island. If you are looking to escape your fast paced life and slow down for a while, you'll want to stay here.
In your suite, you will find comfy pillow-top mattresses topped with Ralph Lauren sheets and white-down comforters, slippers and plush towels,cable TV, Express Check-out and Gilchrist and Soames toiletries complete the experience. Wireless internet access is free and available in all rooms.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As General Manager for nearly 5 years, I started as 2-day a week part-time front desk staff. I had no experience in hotel management. I came from a background of 30 years in outside corporate sales to major retailers and manufacturers. But working at a hotel is still, when it comes to gaining reservations and meeting guest expectations, still a sales position. It just required more than that. Working in this hotel has been a fun and enjoyable job and my first experience in working for a small business, which I have also enjoyed tremendously.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer an Olde Florida Key West style small inn experience on a island with high rise hotels as the only other choice. Our guests tell us they feel at home the moment they open the front door. We have only 19 suites (all non-smoking, so we have the time to give each guest personal attention. We are family friendly as well. Our staff is "local" so we know where you want to go and where you might not want to go.

*Traveling on Interstate 75 take exit #101 and travel south on SR 951-S (Collier Blvd.).
*Continue on Collier Blvd for approximately 16 miles and travel over the Marco Island Bridge.
*Turn LEFT onto the 3rd traffic light which is Bald Eagle Road.
*Drive 4 short blocks and turn LEFT on Marco Lake Drive (just past the cell tower).
*Drive around by the lake. You will see the back of the inn on your right.
